Mini-Review: Pullman Munich Hotel

Pullman Munich Hotel

Pullman Munich Hotel****

As I always say, I believe four elements are crucial when choosing accommodation, more specifically in this order of importance:

  1. cleanliness,
  2. location,
  3. structure/comfort, and
  4. service/staff.

Going on this third hotel mini-review, I explain the reasons why I chose this property among so many others.

Disclaimer: this is an honest and personal review of my stay, as a regular paying customer, not a sponsored partnership.

Cleanliness

Top-notch clean.

Location

As always, my goal is to stay as close as possible to the center, which in Munich means the stretch between Karlsplatz and Marienplatz. But alas, decent accommodations in this area are budget-busting.

The obvious alternative is any of the many many hotels around Hauptbahnhof. It is, after all, as well connected to the airport as Marienplatz and only 600m from Karlsplatz. Sadly, the surroundings of big train stations are rarely nice or pleasant, even if totally safe in Munich.

Which brought me to the Pullman Munich Hotel. Located next to the U6/Nordfriedhof, only 6 U-Bahn stops, with journey time of 9 minutes, separates you from Marienplatz.

TIP: Although the train is always my go-to choice for getting around, arriving from/to the airport to/from this hotel is actually much faster with the Lufthansa Express Bus. Regardless of which airline you are flying with, or even if you are flying at all, you can make use of it.

The Munich Nord/Schwabing stop is right by the U6/Nordfriedhof, on the opposite side of the road. It takes approx. 25 min, roughly half of going around with the S-Bah plus U-Bahn. Buy online for €0.50 discount each way.

Structure & Comfort

Pullman Munich Hotel is set in a modern business complex. It has a large open-air patio with low chairs to relax with a drink after a day of touristing. Certainly due to being out of the city center, it can afford to be spacious. A nice touch I remember is a pillow menu, so you are guaranteed to have a comfortable night's sleep.

Service & Staff Friendliness

Apart from the very courteous staff, I must say their breakfast is really great. It is pricey (€26 p.p. per day) but it has a great selection. I wouldn't go for it every day but it's a great option for the day following a late arrival or before an early departure.

BALANCE

Considering the great levels of cleanliness, structure, and service, as well as super convenient location, I recommend it. This is a great cost/benefit and a reference for my trips to Munich. Thumbs up ????
